When Should Early Voting Begin?

My Moritz colleague Steve Huefner has some thoughts to contribute to this issue.

If you're not a shut-in, not a residential college student, not in the military, not in some iteration of the diplomatic service, and not a dependent of anyone who is in service, the answer is never. Get your tuchus to the polls and flash your ID to the inspectors (and make sure you've registered so they have your name in the book). While we're at it, paper ballots, please. Ordinal balloting please. Un-networked tabulation machines, please. Elections on Saturday, please.
