LSA Panel in Memory of Dan Markel

At 11:30 a.m. this Friday at the Law & Society Association Annual Meeting in Seattle, there will be a Service Panel, entitled Combining Academic Work and Social Media Presence, held in Memory of Dan Markel. Panelists include former GuestPrawf Hadar Aviram. We hope any Prawfs authors and readers who are in Seattle can attend.

Many thanks to all those who came out to our panel! After a pause to remember Dan and his many contributions to our community, we talked about the advantages and drawbacks of being "out there" and engaging with the general public, joining the social media community, and even helped a couple of people set up their own blogs. Social media--especially Twitter--can be intimidating for newcomers, and I hope dozens of more people now feel more empowered to join the conversation.
