Obama's Controversial Choice

Americans should be deeply concerned today by the Obama Administration's new nominee for White House Special Assistant for Tail-Wagging and Bone-Fetching.  Characteristically, this choice was arrived at through an untransparent process, involving little public consultation.  And the result is worse than we might have feared -- more evidence of "The One's" not-so-hidden leftist agenda throughout the nomination process.

A number of important questions remain unanswered:

  • Does the nominee's foreign pedigree suggest that he will engage in the kind of dangerous reliance on international law and foreign legal norms that might subject American institutions, like the AKC, to the dictates of the UN or other international bodies?
  • What sort of puppy paper trail does the nominee leave behind?  Does he think the 13th Amendment applies to abortion?
  • What is his tax status?  Has he paid all taxes on chew toys, his doggie bed, and other taxable goods?
  • AKC sounds a lot like ACS.  What's up with that?
It is, perhaps, too early to say that this choice signals the Obama Administration's further descent into tyranny.  But, no, maybe not.  In fact, strike that; it is time to say that this choice signals the Obama Administration's further descent into tyranny.  Doubtless, many Americans have had the same reaction to this ominous choice that I have had: socialism.

Comments are open at the VC; be sure to weigh in.  Tea Parties are being organized at dog walks across this great land; check Glenn Beck's show tonight for information.  You will also be relieved to learn that some of our less cowed, and more dogged, Senators have promised to hold up this nomination, at least until one of two things happens: the Administration agrees to keep information about detainee treatment issues secret, or the carpet in the Rose Room is covered in newspapers.

As if any further evidence were needed of this nominee's radical liberal agenda, Ted Kennedy was apparently involved in his selection.

Fine job, although you might have added some skepticism about the dog's views on gun control.

Hmmm... A Portugese water dog. The Portugese government is dominated by the Socialist Party. Res ipsa loquitur.
