The True Left and National Review in Bed

This may be the only time this Left blog links to the National Review approvingly, but please do read Emanuele Ottolenghi's article about the disgusting boycott of Israeli institutions by the Association of University Teachers in Britain.  I'm the first to agree that Israeli policies are routinely colonial and discriminatory.  But for a teacher's union to boycott universities that are in no way institutionally complicit with those policies is shameful--and is a stain on the global academic community.  The absurdity of the move is patent to anyone who knows anything about the culture of Israeli academe, which is notoriously "post-Zionist".
