Anyone receive a rejection yet? Any insight regarding when rejections have been sent out by Northwestern during prior exclusive submission windows? All at once at the end, rolling, etc.?

sometimes they give rejections before the time period, like a week before.

Thanks!

Anecdotal evidence indicates that these editors received a lot of submissions. Attractive proposal, attractive timing, very well-publicized.

Anyone get dinged yet?

Posted by: Anonymoose | Jan 27, 2018 4:02:43 PM

Nope

Posted by: Anon | Jan 27, 2018 4:06:07 PM

Nothing here, either.

Probably angsting a little too early...but I was wondering when we expect to have a Spring 2018 season angsting thread. It would be nice to know if I was in any company.

First Timer, you can't even get an angsting license before Valentine's Day.

DING! I made room for y'all. Use this opportunity wisely.

Anyone else hear from Northwestern? If so, when did you submit?

Posted by: anon_prof | Jan 31, 2018 4:29:41 PM

I submitted in the first couple days of January and haven't heard. I was under the impression they hadn't released any decisions yet.

Posted by: earlyprof | Jan 31, 2018 4:54:32 PM

I got a ding yesterday too

Posted by: Anon | Jan 31, 2018 5:10:42 PM

Received a rejection on 1/31.

Any thoughts about placing a 10,000 word essay? Timing of submission?
I’ve been at this game for ten years. Haven’t written anything this shot and unsolicited.

Essay guy,
You should try submitting to peer reviewed journals - 10,000 words is the standard there.

I come from the European market and always try to keep it short so I can play on both markets.

Best of luck.

I submitted to NU the day of their deadline. Got my rejection yesterday. In other news, has anyone submitted more broadly yet? Any activity?

Posted by: Alsoanon | Feb 2, 2018 1:47:51 PM

Anyone still waiting to hear back on their submission to Northwestern?

Posted by: yetanotheranon | Feb 3, 2018 10:03:32 AM

I've started submitting to a few open journals, but no activity yet. Seems like the majority of journals are accepting submissions, at least at the top 25 or so.

Posted by: anoN | Feb 3, 2018 11:08:35 AM

i am waiting- i assume they will do a big dump tomorrow or monday.

Posted by: anon | Feb 3, 2018 12:41:45 PM

They have made at least one offer already based on exclusive window submissions, presumably more

Posted by: miscprof | Feb 4, 2018 2:28:07 PM

I think it's time to start the Angst threat for Fall 2018

Posted by: NewProf | Feb 4, 2018 3:03:11 PM

thread* that is.

Posted by: NewProf | Feb 4, 2018 3:03:19 PM

Miscprof,

Any sense on when the offer went out?

Posted by: Anonymoose | Feb 4, 2018 4:05:54 PM

You would think they would just send the rejections - they probably already picked the articles since I doubt they are meeting tonight.

I wouldn't be so sure. Many law journals meet on weekends, and considering that they promised decisions by tomorrow, I have a reason to believe that they are meeting tonight to finalize their offers.

Posted by: NewProf | Feb 4, 2018 7:05:56 PM

Redyip is out there and circling. Early offers are out there. Not too early to start angsting in the Prawfs tradition, but too early to angst in the literal sense.

Posted by: Everybody and their sibling | Feb 5, 2018 12:25:21 AM

It's decision day! Good luck to everyone who's still waiting!

Posted by: Anonymoose | Feb 5, 2018 7:43:57 AM

What I meant is that I highly doubt the students at Northwestern Law review would be meeting during the Super Bowl to do offers. Maybe they are meeting tonight.

Anyone hear anything yet today?

Posted by: Anony | Feb 5, 2018 4:19:22 PM

No, I have not heard - I imagine maybe they are meeting tonight and will do a big dump of rejects then?

Posted by: anon | Feb 5, 2018 4:21:00 PM

Anyone else not hear back?

Posted by: Anony | Feb 6, 2018 7:08:08 AM

Dinged by Michigan, Notre Dame, Washington University and Wisconsin. Submitted February 1, dinged February 6 and 7.
